ANZIIF and the Asia Insurance Review have announced the finalists of the 2015 Australian Insurance Industry Awards.

The awards, now in their 12th year, recognise the top performers across the Australian industry and will be dished out at a ceremony in Sydney on August 19.

“The Awards are an opportunity for the Australian insurance industry to join together to celebrate achievement and community,” Prue Willsford, CEO of ANZIIF said.

“As one of the highlights of the insurance calendar, the Awards play a vital role in recognising and promoting the contribution of our industry and the work that individuals and businesses undertake to ensure that the community is well-served.”

Nominee highlights include Consult Insurance Solutions and Simplex Insurance Solutions battling it out for the small broker of the year award, whilst GSA, Planned Cover and Scott Winton Insurance Brokers go head-to-head in the medium broker of the year category.

Kay Jackson, director at Simplex, told Insurance Business that the nomination is a great reward for her and the team at Simplex as they look forward to the ceremony next month.

“We are super excited," Jackson said.

"It is great for the team at Simplex to be recognised for the hard work we do each day for our clients as a finalist in the small broking category. It means so much to all the staff at Simplex.”

The usual suspects make up the large broker of the category with Aon, JLT, Marsh and Willis Australia all nominated as National Transport Insurance will bid to make it three wins in a row in the small-medium general insurance company category with Hospitality Employers Mutual standing in their way.

Allianz, CGU and QBE face-off in the larger general insurer category with All Parks Insurance, Brooklyn Underwriting, DUAL Australia and PetSure Australia nominated in the underwriting agency of the year category.
