Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright boosts insurance team Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has announced that it has bolstered its Australian team with the addition of an experienced insurance partner.

Jacques Jacobs has joined the firm as a partner in Sydney and follows the additions of Mark Attard, Brett Solomon and Jehan-Philippe Wood, who joined the business last year.

Jacobs was formerly a partner at DLA Piper in Sydney and has varied experience across directors’ and officers’ (D&O), warranty and indemnity, management liability and financial institutions claims and also works on professional indemnity claims with a focus on insurance brokers and other finance professionals.

Wayne Spanner, Norton Rose Fulbright managing partner in Australia, said the appointment of Jacobs was part of an ongoing investment in the Australian insurance practice.

“Our clients, as well as our national insurance and litigation teams, will benefit greatly from the addition of Jacques to our partnership,” Spanner said.

“His close ties to financial institutions and knowledge of emerging issues in the technology and risk space will further our support for a range of industries.”

Jacobs revealed that he was attracted to the new role thanks to Norton Rose Fulbright’s thought-leadership in another key area.

“I was attracted to Norton Rose Fulbright’s dedication to its insurance practice and particular areas of advice such as litigation, D&O insurance, warranties and indemnities.

“I also have a focus on cyber and related issues and have been impressed with the firm’s thought-leadership in this area,” Jacobs said.
