HDI Global has announced the appointment of a new market manager for its Queensland business.

Kelly Townley will take on the role in the office of the international insurer based in Brisbane.

Townley brings more than 12 years’ experience to the business having filled roles in a variety of positions in the broker market at Aon and will help develop the presence of HDI-Gerling in the Queensland market.

Stefan Feldmann, managing director of HDI Global SE, in Australia, said that the appointment reinforces the importance of the Queensland market for the business.

“Queensland is a very important market to us and I am very excited that we are now represented locally closer to our brokers and clients having Kelly Townley on board,” Feldmann said.

Townley’s specialist knowledge in property, liability and construction will see her work closely with underwriting teams in Sydney across the property, liability, construction, financial lines and marine product classes.

The move follows the news that the Australian branch of the German headquartered insurer will work closer with its counterpart in South East Asia last year as the business announced a major rebrand in January.
