Aggregator CFO resigns
iSelect chief financial officer David Chalmers as resigned and will be replaced by interim-CEO Jackie McAvenna.
Chalmers joined iSelect in 2012 as corporate development director before being appointed to the role of CFO later that year. More, recently he was interim-CEO before the appointment of Alex Stevens in March.
McAvenna will remain interim-CFO until a new appointment is made. The search is “well progressed” and announcement will be made in due course.
 
ANZIIF brings on tutelage heavyweight to lead education department
The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (the Institute) has hired Anton Barnett-Harris to general manager of education, events and international.

He will lead the team responsible for the development of the Institute’s award-winning education products and services for the Australian, New Zealand and Asian markets. He will also oversee the Institute’s event activities, including the key industry events the Australian and New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards and the Claims Convention.

Barnett-Harris joins the Institute with a strong background in education and international business, most recently as the learning manager at Pearson Australia and as the regional director for Australia and New Zealand of Edexcel, a Pearson company. He has also held positions as Africa regional director for Edexcel and NCC Education. Barnett-Harris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public International Law and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Organisational Management from the University of Cape Town.
 
 
QBE wins claims award
QBE has achieving the highest claims satisfaction score in Australia to win CANSTAR's Outstanding Claims Service award for 2014.

Following a CANSTAR consumer study of motorists who had made a claim, QBE was again recognised as the insurer with the most satisfied claimants, based on a combination of claims satisfaction scores and claims features offered.

The Outstanding Claims Service award was based on customers’ overall claims experience with their insurer, including ease of the claims lodgement process, speed of response, quality of repairs, timeliness, communication during the process and overall satisfaction
 
 
Claims management company appoints client strategy general manager
Newly listed Stream Group has appointed Brian Hill to the group role of general manager client strategy.

Hill will work across Stream, Cerno and Insurtech focusing on customising claims strategies for individual insurers with particular focus on systems and services to best achieve their goals.

He brings in excess of 20 years international experience in investigating and resolving building related claims with particular focus on technology aids and solutions. Hill was formerly the General Manager Property at Innovation Group Australia.

“We are delighted to have Brian as part of the team,” said Stream managing director Don McKenzie.“His background and experience in helping insurers, loss adjusters and construction professionals collaborate for mutual benefit will be a great asset for the group.”
