Zurich has announced the appointment of a new commercial state manager for New South Wales and the ACT for its general insurance business.

Craig Sandy has been appointed to the role which was announced in a statement yesterday.

Sandy will lead the sales, distribution and market facing underwriting team for NSW and ACT in the commercial side of the business.

With more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, and having joined Zurich in 1993, Sandy hopes to use his experience to build on the existing relationships Zurich has with the broker segment.

“I am keen to build on our existing broker relationships and continue the team’s contribution to Zurich’s growth in the market,” Sandy said.

Adrian Riminton, EGM of commercial general insurance for Zurich in Australia and New Zealand, welcomed the appointment of a respected veteran to the team.

“I am confident that Craig’s extensive experience and his commitment to Zurich’s broker community will see him leading the State team to achieve the best outcomes for our customers,” Riminton said.
