Guy Carpenter nabs international agricultural player for Asia-Pacific job

The global broker swoops in for Primacy underwriting boss as it strengthens agricultural offering.

Guy Carpenter & Company has appointed Peter Book as managing director and head of agriculture practice for Asia Pacific Region, effective April 2, 2013.

Book, pictured below, will be based in Sydney and report to James Nash, CEO of the firm's Asia Pacific region and Ralph Bone, global head of agriculture practice.

    In his new role, Book will lead the agriculture specialty practice with responsibility for the development, execution and deployment of sales and technical strategy across the region.

Prior to joining Guy Carpenter, Book was the underwriting manager of Primacy Underwriting Agency, responsible for agriculture insurance in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.

Book is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and a member of Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters. He holds a bachelor of Applied Science degree in Systems Agriculture from the University of Western Sydney in Australia.

With his deep knowledge of the industry, I am confident that Peter will help drive revenue growth and enhance Guy Carpenter's position as the number one intermediary in agriculture reinsurance," Nash said.
