Insurer QBE is set to loom large on the uniforms of Sydney Roosters players for a four-year period commencing in 2015.

In a deal announced yesterday, QBE has become a new major partner of the Sydney Roosters NRL club by agreeing to become a 'Sleeve Sponsor', which will see it feature on the sleeve of the Roosters jersey and on all training apparel from the 2015 pre-season.

QBE CEO Colin Fagen said the club shared QBE's 'passion for teamwork and leadership on and off the field'.  "We look forward to developing our partnership with the Roosters and supporting them in 2015 and beyond," Fagen said.

QBE already has a number of sponsorship deals with sporting clubs around Australia, including the Sydney Swans, which it has sponsored for 28 years, soccer club Perth Glory, WAFL club the Subiaco Lions and netball club the NSW Swifts.

The insurer views sponsorship as a long-term investment and commitment to its sponsorship partners, which it hopes to utilise to achieve strong recognition for the company and to build customer loyalty.
