Insurer vice president to lead rival’s state operations

A former senior vice president and accident & health manager of an international insurer is to become Victorian state manager for a property and casualty player.

ACE Group has appointed Chubb senior vice president and accident and health manager Steve Ord to the role of state manager - Victoria.

Ord will be responsible for ACE Group's second largest branch operation in Australia, which has a team of 38 employees.

Ord has 14 years’ industry experience. He was senior vice president and accident and health zone manager at Chubb Insurance Company of Europe for more than four years while in the UK, and prior to that, he was personal insurance manager at Chubb Australia for eight years and six months.

Country president for ACE in Australia & New Zealand, John French said: “We are fortunate to attract talent like Steve and I am delighted that he has decided to join the ACE team. With his underwriting expertise, knowledge of the Victorian market and leadership skills, our brokers and clients are in a safe pair of hands as we continue to deepen and grow relationships to expand our business.”
