The international brokerage announced that CEO of Elantis Premium Funding, Jurgen Rammesmayer, will become chief operating officer for the AJG Australian broker business.

Nick Cunningham, head of distribution, will become acting chief executive at Elantis while a successor is found.

Sarah Lyons, currently chief operating officer for AJG, will become managing director – commercial broking and will retain responsibility for the commercial branch network, the company said in a statement.

Andrew Godden, Arthur J. Gallagher Australia’s chief executive, said that the changes add to an already talented team at the business.

“We already have a great team of talented and committed individuals in our business,” Godden said.

“Jurgen is a high calibre leader and his international background and financial services experience will be a tremendous addition to help us drive growth further as we enter 2016.”

Formerly Lumley Finance, Elantis was acquired by AJG in 2014 following the sale of the business by Wesfarmers during the sale of underwriting businesses to IAG.

The appointments become effective on 1 January.
